Why BCBAs, SLPs, OT s and Psychologists are Choosing to Grow Their Careers with Hopebridge
Whether just out of school or backed by 10 years of experience, there are a few questions that tend to drive individuals in caring professions to find their ideal workplace:
“Where can I truly make a difference?”
“Where will my skills be valued and nurtured?”
“Where can I find a sense of belonging and purpose?”
We know most Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), speech-language pathologists (SLP), occupational therapists (OT) and psychologists are not solely seeking a job, but rather a community where they can hone their purpose, passion and possibilities.
At Hopebridge, our commitment goes beyond the children and families we serve; it extends to the heartbeat of our organization: the clinicians who bring expertise, empathy and dedication to every interaction. With a steadfast focus on empowering our team members to reach their fullest potential, we’ve cultivated an environment where innovation thrives, collaboration flourishes, compassion radiates, and individual growth is not just encouraged, but celebrated.
After talking to our team, we wanted to know … what makes Hopebridge a great place to work? Here are some of the elements they said set Hopebridge apart as an employer while clinicians develop their career:
11 Reasons BCBAs, OTs, SLPs and Psychologists Choose Hopebridge
- Free CEUs
All clinicians at Hopebridge are supported to go to conferences, meet others in the field, and obtain CE credits to produce well-rounded team members.
Learning and growing are some of our key values at Hopebridge. Just as we want our kids to develop their skills, it’s equally important our team members do the same so they can provide the best possible care. To encourage learning and help our clinicians keep up with their credentials, we offer a professional development stipend for conferences and workshops, plus we host free continuing education (CE) events and specialized training cohorts with internal thought leaders on topics like familial support, HRE, PEAK and other neurodiversity-affirming practices for all disciplines.
- Work From Home Program
We understand the importance of flexibility, especially in the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare. Through our Work From Home (WFH) Program, our clinician can excel in their roles while taking part in the convenience of remote work. Behavior analysts have up to two days per month that they can dedicate to treatment planning, documentation, and other administrative work. Our OTs and SLPs also have the opportunity to work on non-billable documentation once they have met their billable hours.
- Diverse career pathways
Career Pathways are celebrated as Hopebridge team members learn and grow.
While enjoying the moment you’re in, it’s also healthy to have goals. Hopebridge provides an environment where clinicians can grow throughout their career. For instance, Hopebridge takes out the guesswork by offering behavior analysts clear career progression and pay increases through the BCBA Career Pathway. Leveling up to lead BCBA, clinical director or regional BCBA (and other stops along the way!) is more than a title change. It’s the chance to work towards competencies and leadership skills that will enhance your practice while giving you the tools to better support those around you. At the same time, this initiative offers extra center-level support to registered behavior technicians (RBT) and BCBAs at all levels, as it gives them a helping hand – or several – when questions or challenges arise. Occupational therapists and SLPs also have options for their career path with mentorship programs, leadership training, center management positions, diagnostic opportunities and more.
- Grand rounds support
At Hopebridge, we never want our clinicians to feel alone. Support is woven into everything we do for our team and our families. As such, clinicians can bring cases to grand rounds for review. Before the case is brought to the curated grand rounds group, local and clinical leadership like Clinical Director of Functional Assessment Taylor Thomas will first aim to provide individualized support and recommendations, such as training to conduct Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT). By providing hands-on support and more access to a range of cross-country clinicians for collaboration, we increase the likelihood of success for our children and families.
- The Bridge Program
This year-long program provides clinical mentorship, self-paced training and live content review for BCBAs at any point in their career to bridge any gaps in their education or areas that have left them wanting more. And remember those free CEUs we mentioned? Adding to the program’s value, these training opportunities have the potential to earn our BCBAs nearly half of their required CEUs to maintain certification – including ethics and supervision CEUs – which puts them on track to accrue the necessary hours for one year.
- Outpatient Therapies Mentorship Program
No matter where our clinicians are at in their career path, this mentorship program offers support and development for our occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists. Through monthly meetings, participating OTs and SLPs learn to create professional goals while building knowledge and their skills repertoire through presentations and engagement activities. This program creates a valuable community so our clinicians have the opportunity to connect with each other in a meaningful way.
- Student fieldwork programs
To build a strong community that our clinicians want to be a part of, we nurture our team from the ground up. Our Fellowship Program for behavior analysis and our outpatient fieldwork experience home-grow our clinicians by giving ABA, occupational therapy and speech pathology students the learnings, resources, support and fieldwork they need throughout their graduate programs. For example, while studying to become a BCBA, we offer Fellows an unrivaled curriculum, on-the-job training, best-in-class supervision hours, BACB exam preparation and unique learning opportunities and perks like pass bonuses, a Journal Club and professional development funds. It’s paying off, too, as our Fellows’ exam pass rate is consistently 20% higher than the national average! Through our university partnerships, our outpatient fieldwork students rave about Hopebridge’s multiple layers of supervision, in-center and virtual support, collaborative model, program flexibility and personalization, diverse scope of work, and other opportunities associated with a large network.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
Part of what makes Hopebridge tick is the collaboration across clinical areas. With BCBAs, SLPs, OTs and psychologists all on our nationwide team – and sometimes all under one roof – our team’s diversity and wealth of expertise provides a multitude of perspectives, plus ensures consistent interventions across settings.
- Inclusive and supportive workspace
Diversity, equity and inclusion are more than just words at Hopebridge. For nearly two decades we’ve been committed to serving the underserved, and with this mission comes great responsibility to be a champion for a more inclusive society. Our DEI Workgroup dedicates extra time to cultural awareness and ensuring our efforts take diversity into consideration for our children, families and our team members. From expanding access to care in underrepresented communities, to choosing assessments that keep diversity in mind, we are working toward a more inclusive world.
- Opportunities to find adventure in new places
Clinical positions are not one-size-fits-all and Hopebridge offers a chance at new experiences both in and outside of our center walls. From exciting travel BCBA positions, to opportunities to follow the mission to one of more than 100 center locations across the country, our clinicians have the chance to make their mark while visiting or finding home in a new place.
- Commitment to clinical outcomes
At Hopebridge, you’ll get to work with the best in the industry to make an impact—plus monitor the data that shows it. We are helping lead data research efforts for National Autism Data Registry, and baseline benchmark data show that our ASD Quality Index Score outperforms the national average by 11%, and our team’s clinical tenure is eight months longer than the average provider’s. Our measurements for success don’t stop there. Via internal post-transition surveys, families of our graduated children scored us 92% in caregiver satisfaction, suggesting our work is paying off at home, too. Through data-driven services, extensive training opportunities, research initiatives and clinical innovation, Hopebridge moves forward in the pursuit of better care and better clinical outcomes for all children and families.
Hopebridge has support systems for all disciplines to ensure we work together for our outcomes.
